Fresh from playing the Barrowland Ballroom three times in 22 days for CeilidhFest Glasgow supporting Hipsway, supporting (solo) The Modfather himself, Paul Weller, at his personal request for his sell-out Scottish dates in Glasgow and Music Hall Aberdeen and supporting Ocean Colour Scene; The John Rush Band's pre-xmas gig in Room 2 with Special Guests The Solid Bond and The Gilhooly's will now be moving to a rescheduled date of Friday 8th April 2022 due to rising concerns and case numbers of the new Covid Omicron variant. The health and safety of everyone involved in this gig is of paramount concern to us. Full refunds will be issued to anyone who cannot make the new rescheduled date.

THE JOHN RUSH BAND:

A Glasgow based singer/songwriter (originally from Paisley). With his “folk tinged pop songs” he has played some of Glasgow’s greatest venues such as King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, O2 Academy, Barrowland Ballroom, Royal Concert Hall and Saint Luke's & The Winged Ox. 

Through the years he has racked up some highly acclaimed support slots with Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene, Chris Helme (The Seahorses), Steve Pilgrim (Paul Weller Band) and Johnny Lloyd (Tribes). John took a selection of songs across the pond to New York City in late September 2018 where he showcased his new music in a quick mini NYC tour consisting of four gigs in five nights including a secret rooftop Sofar Sounds show. This new music would go on to become his debut album Beneath The Apple Tree which was released in November 2019 with a sell-out album launch gig in Room 2, Glasgow after John had joined the 23 Music Management family. The pandemic was obviously a difficult time for music but John played two of the pioneering Immersive TV gigs in Room 2 early 2021 which were broadcast to an international audience and continued to play many online gigs to keep his fans entertained on lockdown. As lockdown restrictions eased, John was able to travel around the country again, playing at one of the UK's first outdoor festivals to restart at Capers In Cannich in the Highlands, Upside Doune (The Rabbit Hole) on Cardross Estate in Stirlingshire, Lindisfarne Festival in the North-East of England, the Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival in Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow and sandwiched in between these was his headline and sell-out gig in Saint Luke's & The WInged Ox. 

John returned to the Barrowland Ballroom to support Hipsway for the Glasgow CeilidhFest where he announced the release of his newest single ‘The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From The Tree’. The single subsequently peaked at Number 2 on the iTunes UK Singer/Songwriter Chart. John then received the nod from The Modfather himself and living Legend, Paul Weller, to support him on the Scottish leg of his sold out tour where he played to a packed Barrowland Ballroom and Music Hall Aberdeen in successive nights to fulfil a lifetime’s dream of supporting a true musical hero. Which was then remarkably followed by being asked to support more of his musical heroes, Ocean Colour Scene, again the Barrowland Ballroom.

THE SOLID BOND:

The Solid Bond takes you on an immersive journey where soul meets modern Glasgow life! At 34 Graham Hanlon is an experienced musician with an extensive CV in both live performance and recording. Also, years of honing his skills as a musician and growing as a writer. Drawing influence from the soulful sounds of northern soul anthems and inspiration from the early origins of jazz and R’n’B. Graham has developed a sound that blends many of his influences from Paul Weller to Marvin Gaye. Working with great local musicians with similar passions has resulted in a catalogue of singles to be proud of. Music which reflects on the times that we are living in while retaining an authentic sound.

THE GILHOOLY'S:

The Gilhooly's are on quite a remarkable “reawakening” journey. Mildly successful in the 1990's rubbing shoulders with bands like Travis,   Teenage Fanclub and Cosmic Rough Riders, they have re-emerged to great acclaim and signed to Main St Records with instant success with their first single in over 20 years, 'Star', making Number 1 in the Amazon Music Indie Chart. They also made Number 2 in the same chart with their second single 'Will God Forgive'. They released their new album, G10, on 26th of November. With a large following and tremendous stage presence, they have been endorsed by many current radio stations as well as many in the music industry, Enjoy the accomplished and very energetic sound of The Gilhooly’s!
